ABOUT GUMS
Mission Statement
The Griffith University Medicine Society was formed to represent the interests of medical students studying at Griffith University. The society seeks to support and enhance its member's progress from medical students to doctors. GUMS endeavours to engage in activities supportive of the students and the school, supplementing the excellent medical education students will receive at Griffith University. GUMS is an incorporated associated, and membership is derived exclusively from students enrolled in the Griffith University four year graduate entry medical course.
Our long-term objectives are:
- to advance and promote the interests of medical students at Griffith University
- to provide a supportive setting for medical students during their medical training
- to enrich both the social and academic environment of Griffith Medical School.
- to foster links and professional associations with student colleagues at other medical school within Australia and overseas
- to promote the positive interaction of medical students with members and organisations in the health care field
- to promote the health of the community via participation in community projects and charity functions
