GUMS Election Time!

It’s time for the current exec to retire or convince you all that they are fit for another year of duties. You may have seen the position descriptions around GH1 or be at Logan, Tweed or Wesley and wondering when the next election is.

Nominations for positions begin today September 11th and will continue until next Friday September 18th at 5pm. Position descriptions and nomination forms can be found in PBL rooms, on pin boards outside of PBL rooms and on here, our brand new website! See the publications link.
Fill out a nomination form (will be pretty self explanatory) and pop it into the GUMS locker (locker number 473 – it has a GUMS sticker on it) and then wait for voting to begin.
Elections will be on Tuesday 22nd of September between first year and second year PBLs in the common room at GH1.
For those of you at Logan, Tweed and Wesley, I will email the position descriptions and nomination forms and organise for a rep to make a time for voting. Stay tuned for further info.
So what are the positions you can nominate for?
There are 10 positions on the GUMS executive:
- President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Academic Representative
- Social Representatives (x2)
- AMSA Liasion Officer
- Publications Officer
- Community Liasion Officer
- Sponsorship Officer
We encourage candidates to consider nominating for more than one position, in fact last year many nominated for 3 positions. See the position descriptions for more details and feel free to approach the current exec for a better idea about what each role involves.
